CAMS Packaging - Quick Reference

Summary

This article is to cover the process in which Financial Aid will use to apply budgets, package awards, and disperse to eligible students.

 

Procedure

Log into https://cams-prod.clinton.edu/ecams/ with proper credentials.

 

Apply Budgets

In the left-hand menu pane, click on "Financial Aid", then "Packaging", then "Prioritized", and finally "Budgets"

To apply budgets, follow these steps:

  1. Select the desired Financial Aid and Academic Year, then click the "Find" button.

  2. Click on the "Initiate" tab.

  3. Right click in the “Select Budgets to Run” data grid - it will be blank by default.

  4. Click the "Select All" option.

  5. If you wish to reapply budgets to students, uncheck the “Only show students without budgets” checkbox.

  6. Click "Initiate" button.

  7. Check the list of students to ensure they are being assigned the correct budget.

  8. Click the "Process" tab.

  9. If you unchecked the checkbox in Step 5, make sure to check the “Overwrite existing budgets” checkbox.

  10. Click the "Process" button.

 

Run Packaging

In the left-hand menu pane, click on "Financial Aid", then "Packaging", then "Prioritized", and finally "Package"

To apply budgets, follow these steps:

  1. Select the desired Financial Aid and Academic Year, then click the "Find" button.

  2. Click on the "Initiate" tab.

  3. Right click in the “Select Budgets to Run” data grid - it will be blank by default.

  4. Set the "ISIR Year Indicator" to the desired year range. (E.g. - 2024-2025)

  5. If you wish to repackage students, uncheck the “Only show students without packages” checkbox.

  6. Click "Initiate" button.

  7. Click the "Get Award Methodologies" button.

  8. Click the "Get Awards" button.

  9. Click the "Print" button, then review the report for the accuracy of the awards.

  10. If the awards are correct, click on the "Process" tab.

  11. Click the "Process" button.

 

Additional Notes

  • The checkbox for "Only show students without budgets" checks for only NEW students.
    • If the process touched the student in a previous run, they will be excluded.
  • In the package exception report, the "Has packaged awards from another process" column shows any students (if value is true) that have been packaged manually.
    • Tracy Dale states that the packaging should ideally be run through the automatic processes as much as possible.
